DREAM GAME 2012 TRUE BLUE VS GREEN BLOODED CHEER RAFFLE PROMO
Contest Mechanics

I. PROMO PERIOD
- The contest runs from 12:00AM of January 28, 2012 to 8:00 PM of February 05, 2012.

II. HOW TO JOIN
1. The promo is open to all interested participants (male or female, of legal age and residing in the Philippines) who have registered to participate in the promo.
2. To qualify, participants should visit the Dream Game True Blue vs Green Blooded Cheer Raffle Promo microsite (www.interaktv.ph/bluevsgreen) and register within the promo duration (12:00 AM of January 28, 2012 to 8:00 PM of February 05, 2012).
3. Participants will be asked to register to the promo through the Registration Page Tab:
a. Complete Name (First, Middle and Last name)
b. Complete Mailing Address
c. Valid E-mail address
d. Age
e. Contact Number (Mobile and/or Landline)
4. After the registration, choose which team you are cheering for by ticking the box of your choice (True blue or Green Blood).
5. After choosing, write your cheer for your chosen team on the space provided and submit. A confirmation that your registration and cheer entry was received will be shown. Only entries with complete registration and corresponding cheer entry will be considered valid.
Cheers must follow the succeeding guidelines:
a. Must not contain defamatory, slanderous or libelous materials
b. Must not be indecent, obscene, inappropriately revealing or suggestive in a sexual or lewd way, as determined in AKTV’s sole discretion
c. Must not depict any activity that can be considered violent

V. ANNOUNCEMENT & NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS:
- Names of winners will be posted within 24 hours from time of raffle draw through the Dream Game 2012 True Blue vs Green Blooded Cheer Raffle Promo Microsite (www.interaktv.ph/bluevsgreen). Prizes must be claimed within sixty (60) days from date of receipt of notification via registered mail. Failure to claim within the said period forfeits the winner’s right over the prize with prior DTI approval and shall be forfeited in favor of AKTV.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…Twenty-two years ago, these words first flashed across movie theater screens around the world, and a modern legend was born.  Hundreds of millions of people would be introduced to a saga that would touch their lives in ways then unimaginable.  Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and the Special Editions of all three films, became defining events for two generations.  The fast-paced action adventures, set in a new and exciting universe, featured grand design and boundless fun. The films inspired countless of viewers with themes that are universal and timeless: the conflict between good and evil and between technology and humanity, the celebration of heroism, and the limitless potential of the individual.

          The Star Wars saga is a modern-day fairy tale reflecting the vision of George Lucas.  Lucas imbued this new myth with pieces of American pop culture, including movie westerns, swashbucklers and – for seasoning – Japanese samurai epics.  Star Wars was also a reaction against Watergate, Vietnam and other periods of domestic turmoil that seemed to undermine the concept of the hero for disillusioned Americans.
With the Star Wars saga, Lucas decided to bring together these recognizable, modern-day threads under the umbrella of the basic mythic structure – the journey of the hero – that has been in place for thousands of years, in hundreds of civilizations.  With its mix of the traditional and the modern, Star Wars’ new mythology thrilled young and old alike.
            Now, with “Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace” converted into 3D, Lucas takes us back to the beginning, in which Darth Vader is a hopeful nine-year-old boy named Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi is a determined young Jedi knight.  This first chapter, which is rich in art, design, costumes, architecture and technology follows Anakin’s journey as he pursues his dreams and confronts his fears in the midst of a galaxy in turmoil.
            George Lucas, the pioneering and brilliant filmmaker behind STAR WARS, has overseen the process with his renowned attention to detail. John Knoll, the visual effects supervisor for Lucas film’s Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) was responsible for the actual conversion. He served as Visual Effects Supervisor on all three of the Star Wars prequels. The remaining five STAR WARS films will be converted to 3D over the coming years.

“I'm really excited about the new big screen release of the film.  We’ve worked very hard to get the best quality 3D we could. The big screen experience is so much better than watching it on television. It was designed to put you in the environment and surround you with the sound and the picture. There is   nothing like it. I'm so glad that we were able to bring this whole experience to the next generation. This will be the third generation that will be able to see it on the big screen and when you're young, it’s an overwhelming and powerful event,” Lucas shares on converting Episode 1 into 3D. 

Lucas further shares on challenges faced on converting the movie to 3D - “Originally, I was not a big fan of 3D. I really thought 3D was a gimmick. Then later on I was trying to get digital projectors into the theaters. I was doing a presentation in Las Vegas. Bob Zemeckis and Jim Cameron came up to me  and said: ‘We want to get 3D into the theaters. Would you join us in showing the theater owners that you can do 3D?’   And I said: ‘That’d be good because in order to do 3D you have to have digital theaters. So it would promote my idea of digital theaters.’ Then when I saw the test that we did of STAR WARS in 3D, I realized how great it was and how great it looked.  I became fascinated with the idea of converting STAR WARS into 3D, which was  easier said than done.  It took us a long time to develop a structure in which we could actually do a really good conversion of a 2D film into a 3D film.” 

 “I don’t like things coming out into the audience.  I like everything to be behind the proscenium. I think 3D is an art. You need artists who have a sensibility about where things fit in the frame.   It's very subtle but it’s very, very important.  We had an advantage because we had experts in visual effects like John Knoll. We had the skill set of ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) and people who had worked in 3D  on films, including “Avatar.” So we could get a group of people together that could actually do this,” concludes Lucas.
“Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace” in 3D comes to theaters on February 9 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

A young man flies between the buildings, lifting cars into the air with the power of his mind - based on an original story by director Josh Trank and screenwriter Max Landis, “Chronicle” is the tale of three teens who find a power beyond their imagination, and the struggle they face in learning to control it.
Like so many of us, they’re obsessed with chronicling their lives, however mundane – or in their case, however extraordinary.  For Andrew, Matt and Steve have stumbled upon something beyond their – or anyone’s – understanding. They’re now capable of, well, almost anything.  They can move objects just by thinking about them, crush cars through force of will.  They learn to fly…the ultimate wish fulfillment, until things get dark.

As the story opens, Matt is a cynical, know-it-all, too-cool-to-care teen.  But like his two new cohorts, Matt undergoes radical changes after an encounter with a mysterious force leaves him with incredible powers.  The two other members of the newly empowered high school trio are Matt’s cousin, Andrew (portrayed by Dane DHaanl), and campus king Steve (Michael B. Jordan).

 
Australian actor Alex Russell reflects on playing the all-American high schooler in the following q&a:

Q:         It's not like a traditional Marvel or DC superhero movie.  Was that part of the attraction?

A:         You get to do all these incredible action sequences.  You get to do superhero stuff, but the characters are so layered. Not to say that isn't always the case, but if there's a superhero movie the prime thing is to sell that aspect of it—the superpowers and the function of a superhero. This is more about characters learning about themselves and developing as people. It's interesting to think about what Matt, Andrew and Steve would have been like if they hadn't had superpowers.

Q:         Can you introduce us to Matt, your character?

A:         Matt Garetty is in his senior year. He's spent much of his high school life with a “screw you” attitude toward everyone and everything around him. He's had this nihilistic approach, up until recently, all through his high school years. He's intelligent, but he doesn't do well in school because at some stage he turned against the system. Now he's in his senior year and while that's a huge part of him, he does have that desire to want to connect with people again. The arc of Matt's character throughout the film is huge.

Q:         Will the handheld element bring something different for audiences?

A:         That's what is so exciting about it. The illusion is that characters are holding these cameras and you're seeing stuff that's surreal and amazing. I think bringing those two elements together - that raw style of shooting and these incredible effects - is going to be really unique; especially because it's not the shaky handheld approach. You may have whole scenes where the camera is just sitting there and there's no room for cuts. It's very tricky but also very exciting because people get a feel that they're looking in to a world with that kind of shot.

Q:         What do you like about your character?

A:         I like that he has a thirst for knowledge. I really like that who he is in the beginning is who he is in the end. Even though a lot of his thirst for knowledge is part of his image, he does have a real desire to expand his thinking. I really like that about him.




Alex Russell graduated from the prestigious NIDA acting program in his native Australia in 2009 and became one of the first of his graduating class to book a leading role in a feature film. “Wasted on the Young” was one of the breakout international hits of the 2010 Toronto Film Festival and led to offers in the shape of independent feature ALMOST KINGS and the upcoming Australian action thriller “Bait 3D.”

Jr. NBA 2012 presented by ALASKA tip-off

Last Saturday, Jr.NBA presented by Alaska conducted a Coach's Clinic at the Treston International School in Bonifacio Global City,  Taguig City. Some of basketball coaches in different corners of the Philippines joined the Coach's Clinic and of course the PBA Alaska Aces players.
Jr. NBA presented by ALASKA returns to the Philippines for the fifth consecutive year with a more extensive program and will visit new cities in the North and South. This year, the leading youth basketball program tips off in Manila, goes Puerto Princesa, Pampanga and Cagayan de Oro, reaching over 400 schools nationwide.The program is open for boys aged 10 to 14 years old for free and approximately 40,000 students, parents and coaches will benefit from the program.

Jr. NBA 2012 is composed of four stages, the Jr. NBA Touring Clinic for coaches and players from January to March, The Regional Selection Camps in April, the National Training Camp in May and the NBA Experience later in the year. 

Jr. NBA was introduced in the Philippines in 2007. in 2008, the program expanded from 16 schools to more than 200, reaching approximately 20,000 students, parents and coaches across the country. In 2011, the program reached more than 400 schools and 40,000 students, parents and coaches across the country.

I not aware of my health, my waist-line is getting larger and larger. My food I eat, no control at all. No exercise. Last January 7, 2012 I was invited to join to cover a Nutrilite event at Market! Market! in Taguig City.  Thanks to Nutrilite organizers, they gave me a chanced for a free consultation about my health status. They measure my bit-rate, blood and etc. All he result a good except that the true fact that I getting bigger.  The doctor (I forgot to get her name) advised me to eat less fats like " mga pritong ulam" more fruits. Also on the event, organizers were getting the top ten Bigatens for the challenge "Biggest loser -Nutrilite Bloggers' Edition". I'm on top 2 or 3. Wow I really really a fat man? OK I take this challenge. and challenge myself to loose weight at no time.Anyways.


Also Thanks to Nutrilite for giving again a chance to meet and greet Enchong Dee and Kyla. Pogi pala talaga ni Enchong - Menchong meets Enchong. (Menchong is my childhood nickname ) Ha pareho kaming pogi. Enchong Dee and Kyla are very down to earth and they accommodated us at the back stage. But the time was very limited. No chanced to take photo ops with Enchong Dee, good thing I have a photo with Ms. Kyla. Thanks to my friend Myk Rome.

            As 2012 opens, Amway Philippines encourages Filipinos all over the country to live healthy by adding color to their diet. The group behind the renowned Nutrilite vitamin, mineral and dietary supplements and the prestigious Artistry lifestyle brand ushers in the new year with a huge day-long event where fun comes with fitness and choice joins camaraderie and a commitment to becoming fit and fresh: Living In Full Color, happening at the Market! Market! Activity Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on Saturday, January 7, 2012.

Early birds that arrived by 10:00 in the morning were treated to having their car snickered by Amway at the Market! Market! parking lot. The Market! Market! Activity Center soon burst into life at exactly 11:00 in the morning with the simultaneous opening of the Living In Full Color program and booths. The booths scattered within the Activity Center housed various activities and were colored according to Nutrilite’s ongoing ColorUrLife campaign.

The Red Booth allowed those aspiring to be health conscious to learn more about their body mass indexes (BMIs), blood pressure and cholesterol levels as well as including at least five servings of fruits and vegetables in their daily healthy eating options. Those looking for fun trooped over to the Yellow Booth to play Wii Fitness Games and the arcade games Punchmaster and Dance Revolution. The Purple Trim Down Showdown Booth served as the registration hub for the Nutrilite Weight Loss Challenge. Participants enjoyed the Green Keepsakes Booth that offered free photo printouts the whole day. The White Playhouse functioned as the stage area where everyone was treated to exciting games and a chance to go out on a special date with celebrity swimmer and new Nutrilite Brand Ambassador Enchong Dee.

There were also product samples up for grabs as well as fun raffles and activities to join. The program included a high-energy Zumba dance workout, a Twister game that incorporated the colored food lifestyle, and a Veggie-Fruit Sumo game where food came to colorful life, proving that playing with your food can be good too. Singer Kyla wowed the crowd with her impressive R&B styling and her bright attitude towards health and fitness. Those who had just signed up to become Amway’s Independent Business Owners (IBO) had the chance to take part in the three-month Nutrilite Double X Challenge, where an iPad 2, an iPod touch and an iPod Nano are all up for grabs.

But there were definitely a few highlights in this year’s expo event program. One of them was the launch of the Nutrilite Trim Down Showdown! Weight Loss Challenge. Sign-ups, “before” pictures and weigh-ins were done at the nearby Purple Booth. It was exciting to see the resolution of the participants, who all vowed to return to Amway in better shape and health in the next three months that the Challenge would run.

The other highlight of the day was the presentation of Nutrilite’s newest brand ambassador — champion swimmer, Kapamilya Network star and multi-awarded actor Enchong Dee. The Green Booth allowed fans of the former Philippine National Swim Team athlete to have a free photograph with him through a photobooth. Event participants also had the chance to win a dinner date the same night with Enchong, but first they had to answer a set of interesting and amusing questions like “If you were a fruit, which fruit would you be and why?”

The day closed with a special raffle and confetti blast, but the quest towards a healthier and more colorful lifestyle has just begun. Through Nutrilite, Amway Philippines continues to advocate Living In Full Color all year round.
